The Dasha Mahavidya are ten forms of the Divine Mother: Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshwari, Chhinnamasta, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamala. They are not ten deities but ten faces of one, and the tradition holds them in a fixed order beginning with Kali. A Mahavidya path recites for each in turn — the stotra, and in the fuller forms the kavacha and a measured japa of her mantra. The packages below differ in how much of that sequence is taken and over how long.
The Mahavidyas belong to the tantric rather than the purely Puranic layer of Shakta practice, and each is approached through her own mantra and her own yantra rather than through a shared liturgy. Taking all ten in order is what distinguishes this observance from the worship of any one of them: the sequence itself is the practice.
